Epic Synth App Reviews

Verry cool and real emulation

I love this emulation of the typical juno emulation. verry warm and authentic. thanks for this nice synth.

Really Really Good!

Well, i own an original Roland Juno and this is the best emulation i have ever used on the iphone! No limits - even midi works perfect!

Best polyphonic synth ever

Works/sounds more like an authentic polyphonic synth than any other app Ive tried.

Lame

What you see is what you get. This is so very basic and limiting. I found it rather boring. And for the price, there are much better programs available. In fact, both Beatwave and Groove maker sequencers are FREE and both are soo much more fun than this. If you are very new to synths, Epic synth might be an easy choice. I feel that it should only be worth .99! Anything more is a waste of money. Meh.

Fun Synth

Fun synth. Straightforward and easy to use. Very happy with my purchase.

Just Wow!

So many features in a small well designed package!

Fantastic Fun Synth!!!

This APP is such fun! My wish is that you please, please add a save a file feature and a way to record my funky patches. If you could do that then hands down Id give this APP a well deserved five star review! Highly recommended to all synth lovers and collectors like myself. Its only two pages to use so its very compact and easy to Navigate around. Cmon and give it a try and make some great noise with this great APP.

It is great,

I keep coming back to it. Good for learning and a lot of fun.

Dont buy it,

The thing opens up, then closes a few seconds after.

Nice

Epic synth is a nice softsynth for ipad. I like it for making SID chip sounds and other retro game sounds. I would really like it to have virtual midi, background audio, and a user definable arpeggiator.

Decent

Made some cool sounds with it, easy to program, uncluttered. The default volume seems way too low. Now it resides in my folder titled "simple synths" getting friendly with Toro Mini, Olsynth, etc. good job JPM, now put your evident love of synths into something that can reside in my "ultrasynth" folder alongside Sunrizer, Curtis Granular, Crystal XT, iMS-20, and Nlog Hey, do you like Lime (HiNRG...Angel Eyes) by chance?

Very, very, basic synth

Took a chance and got this. This is a very basic synth. Seems to work ok. Only for beginners and those who like to tinker. Sounds are VERY basic and simple. Midi Mobilizer support and Core Midi support is very helpful and appreciated. Would like to see future updates and downloadable patches with more interesting sounds. This is a polyphonic synth.

Dead ringer for a certain classic Roland synth!

For anyone thats ever owned a JUNO-106, the interface and sound of this virtual synth will be immediately familiar. While its been many years since Ive heard one in person, this recreation sounds just like I remember. Also -- any fan of Aphex Twins early ambient work will immediately recognize Bank A Program 1. Certain interface choices are a bit strange; the detente on the octave transpose slider not tracking the background grid in any way seems sloppy, and the sliders, while pleasing to look at, dont seem to offer as fine control as I would like. Looking forward to seeing where this project goes!

Tis synth is far from some of the others

1st of all the output volume is terrible its half the output of many of the apps in the store. No recording and copy paste... Those two make this a sad purchase for me until fixed

I can tell that its SUPPOSED to sound something like a 106...

I owned a Juno 106 for many years and recorded a lot of music with it. Eventually I replaced it with a mks50 (not quite the same) which I still have. I think the developers still have a long way to go to recreate the richness of the original that they were clearly inspired by. I sincerely hope they get it sounding more "epic" because I would love to have an iOS based Juno emulation that I really liked.

nice interface, good sounds

I grabbed this app a few days ago on sale, and after having some drama with installs and crashing, I finally got it to work by deleting it from my iPhone, downloading it to my iTunes on my desktop, and reinstalling it from my desktop to the iPhone. the sounds of this app are fun and very usable, however somehow it doesnt have the essence of the juno line. the chorus is especially missing the gooey space that my old Juno had. all said and done, the controls are fun and easy to use, and the sounds are definitely inspiring so long as you dont expect them to save you the money on replacing a real vintage Juno. also, the lack of exporting options are kind of a drag. please at least add audio copy so we can get these sounds out into other apps for editing and sequencing.

Nice when it works

I have had this app for a few days. I took a chance on the app after reading the previous reviews. They were right, the app quits upon launching. I found that if I shut down the iPad2, restart it, and go right into this app it opens and works fine. When it works the app is great! It has a lot of nice features and is fun to play with. But, I found if I have already been using other apps, then try to launch this one, it opens up for a second then quits. Does it all the time -unless you shut down and restart like I mentioned above. Hopefully they work this bug out because it is great when it works. Waiting anxiously for an update.

Useful, but needs a couple of features to be great

Useful for noodling - similar to a 101 and in fact better than the TAL baseline on desktops in my opinion. Feature requests: - glide or portamento - accented note with a filter boost and a decay time adjustment post trigger based on last note played like the famous other analog synth out there - accent via keyboard velocity or key touch - cut and paste - HP filter resonance independent of other LPF - filter Adsr - after touch to VCF or key slide

Meh

Its alright. Fun to mess around with when youre bored.

Great!

Its a Roland Juno for iOS! Needs portamento and random on Arpeggiator and midi channel select! Great app!!
